A few client testimonials:

Kathy… The request for a family researcher was tracing her Jewish tree to her roots in Poland based on family letters passed down to her. This was a difficult and long case that took some collaboration, people who speak Hebrew and willing to traipse the cemeteries of New York City and the efforts in Poland to transcribe records in Nadbrzezie, Swietokrzyskie, Poland. Also, as expected, some endogamy made it a little tricky as well!

“I reached out to Misti to help answers some questions I had about my family lineage. I provided her with as much background information, and she took it from there. Being of Jewish decent, Misti hit many roadblocks along the way, but she kept pushing forward. The most impressive part of the journey was the contacts and organizations she had throughout the world or made to get answers. Like getting photos of headstones that were in Hebrew or Polish and getting them translated. We had phone conversations and emails with cousins I had not previously known. I now have all this documents, photos, and information on my Ancestry Family Tree to have forever. I am so grateful for all the time and work Misti put into the project.”

Laurel… Her German side was well documented by the family researcher, her father. I got to get her to Charlemagne and distant cousin, Ulysses Grant. The Italian side? Trickier but I found documentation and photographs to fill in more of her family’s history including the mug shots of particular black sheep in the family. Who doesn’t like a black sheep in the family?!

“My dad did the family tree years ago, using old-school techniques. Misti took his basic research and brought it to another level, using the most current computer resources and her skill as a historical researcher. My family is amazed at the things she uncovered and the really complete family history she was able to give us – thank you so much Misti!!!!”

Tara… “We heard this but it is true?” Tara had heard some rumors of her ancestry and her mom had questions that were with her for decades. Having a family researcher do the work was necessary as some experience was needed. A bit of digging and finding documentation and NOT finding documentation brought answers to decades old questions. Tara tells the story best.

“Knowing Misti, I thought of her first when my 83-yr old mom asked, “Please help me find my daddy.” My mom was born into a very poor home in PA. She only ever knew her mom and relatives from her mom’s side. My grandmother told her that her daddy was “a very handsome Irishman passing thru the area.” Apparently they had a short romance, and he left the area never to be seen again. My grandmother has passed, and so has anyone with any memory if any story of him. There are stories about him but they are vague and not confirmed. She has his name, and thinks he moved to Philadelphia. A few years ago a friend gifted me a 23andme kit for my birthday.

I sent in the results and found many ‘distant’ relatives. I received only a few emails inquiring about my relatives. One email was from my first cousin (once removed) asking me about my great-grandparents. Her surname was the last name as my mother’s father! I was thrilled and wanted to surprise mom so I gifted a 23andme kit to my mother this past Christmas. She was a match with this cousin! This was all we had to go on – so I reached out to Misti with my fingers crossed. It took about 24 hours and she found my mother’s Daddy!!!!! We know where he lived, whom he married, and his kid’s names, who are currently alive – so much more! We are now in contact with the family and trying to fill out the family tree while my mom is still alive. I could not have ever done this research on my own…. I had no idea where to start. Thank you Misti for helping me solve the biggest mystery of my mother’s life.”.
